Victor Lee Osborn

July 12, 1945 ~ October 31, 2019 (age 74)


Victor Lee Osborn, affectionally known as "Vic", "Coach Osborn" or "Oz" of Anthony, passed away Thursday, October 31, in Wichita, Kansas.
Vic was born July 12, 1945 in the Galloway Hospital, Anthony, Kansas to parents Cecil Arron and Ruby Viola (Broce) Osborn, they preceded him in death.
Vic having lived in the Bluff City and Anthony area most of his life attending Spring School, then Anthony High School, graduating in 1963. He attended Cowley County Community College, then attended and graduated with a Bachelors degree from K-State in 1969.
Vic was united in holy matrimony with Dana Dial and to this union was born, Courtney and Lesley, they later divorced. Vic was then united in holy matrimony with Becky Lee (Shelley) Mayes in 2009, in Manhattan, Kansas. During College he managed Pizza Hut in Aggieville and Westloop in Manhattan. He was a member of the Anthony United Methodist Church and was active in 4-H growing up, loved vintage automobiles, K-State sports, riding horses and farming. He was a Science Teacher and Anthony Hornet's Coach at Lincoln Junior High in Anthony for 26 years, later he farmed and worked at Oak Plus - Towne West in Wichita and Prairie Land Partners - John Deere in Anthony. He also owned and operated Ozzies Pizza, Ozzies One Stop and the Daylight Donut Shop of Anthony. He was always busy with life and cherished his family and friends.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gary Osborn. He is survived by his wife Becky of the home; his daughters, Courtney Lynn and husband Chad Woods of Manhattan, Kansas and Lesley Claire High of Wichita, Kansas; his step-daughters, Amanda Michelle Speier of Olathe, Kansas and Ashlee Lennon Mayes of Wichita, Kansas; his step grandsons, Derek and Cameron Speier of Olathe, Kansas; his beloved fur pal, Willoughby an Old English Sheep dog of the home; his niece, Stephanie and husband Lee Rausch and family of Wichita, Kansas; his nephews, Brenden and Dianna Osborn and family of Okarche, Oklahoma and Bryce Osborn and family of Anthony, Kansas; a host of other family and many dear friends.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services were held Saturday, November 9 at 2:00 P.M. at the Eldringhoff Funeral Home, Anthony, Kansas with the Reverend Mary Hixson officiating. Immediately following services, the family has requested for all to meet at the Idle Hour for a toast and a party in memory of Vic. The family has requested for those who are attending the services, to please wear purple or K-State attire.
Cremation and inurnment in Forest Park Cemetery will follow at a later date.
