Norman Dale "Duck" Mortimer was born October 27, 1928 in Anthony, Kansas, son of Clarence and Mary (Noah) Mortimer.
Duck attended school with his brother and sisters in the Harper county area. He loved working outside and was a volunteer for the fire department in Harper for many years. He also worked for Harper Hospital as an ambulance driver, when needed.
On September 29, 1954 he was united in marriage to Nancy Wohlschlegel in Harper, Kansas, where they made their home. To this union they welcomed a son, James Darrin Mortimer on April 16, 1962, who was the light of their life.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2019 Duck passed away at 90 years, just shy of his 91st birthday. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Nancy; his sister, Mabel Campbell and his grandson Alec; his niece, Dana and husband Walt Forred and several other nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his son Jamey, on August 29, 2019; his parents, Clarence and Mary; his brother, Kenneth Lee and his sister Cleo Brown.
Graveside Memorial Service and inurnment were held Monday, October 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Harper Cemetery, Harper, Kansas. Mr. Roy Jacobs officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children or to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, in care of the Eldringhoff Funeral Home, 115 S. Bluff Avenue, Anthony, Kansas 67003.
