In Loving Memory of
Kathleen "Kathy" Hall
Kathleen "Kathy" Hall of Winfield who died on September 9, 2020.
Kathy was known as an amazing softball player, a staunch advocate for Special Olympians, a lover of all cats and dogs, the best baker, and a most generous friend. Her story telling ability will be sorely missed as she left friends laughing and crying especially when she told stories of her mother Maxine's antics. Her kindness, positive attitude, and sense of humor were known to all. She was a fan of women's sports and could be found courtside for WSU women's basketball. She loved her UCONN Huskies and traveled long distances to see them in person. Attending the Women's College Softball World Series was a highlight of her year.
Kathy retired from WSH&TC after 35 years having worked up from direct support to a leadership position. As many knew, Kathy was a busy retiree helping to raise Linda's daughters, her grandson, serving on human rights committees, volunteering for Special Olympics as a coach and organizer, and working part time at Johnson Vet Clinic. She was a crew chief in the ticket trailer for WVA and looked forward to this annual event. In her spare time, Kathy cooked/baked for her friends. Everyone in Winfield knew and loved her. She is well known to special athletes in Cowley County as Coach Kathy. Kathy had a way of making everyone she came in contact with feel special.
Her life was well lived and this last year was difficult but she never complained. She battled lung cancer and, while treatments were grueling, she maintained her positive attitude throughout.
Kathy was predeceased by her mother and father, Maxine and Guy Hall and her brother, Richard Hall. She is survived by her wife of 36 years, Linda Misasi; son Tracy Hall, four daughters: Kayla (Chris) Misasi, Mary Misasi, Nancy Misasi, Lissa Misasi and Tampa; grandson Casey (Amanda) Hall, great grandson Drelyn Hall, brother Pat (Jewel) Hall, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends. Missing her daily special treats are her beloved, Hannah and eight cats.
In Kathy’s memory, donations to the Cowley County Dragons Special Olympics team or the Cowley County Humane Society may be made through the funeral home.
Per Kathy’s wishes a simple memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. A private family burial will take place at Memorial Lawn Cemetery north of Arkansas City.
