James "Jamey" Darrin Mortimer, age 57 of Harper, departed this life Thursday, August 29 in Sedgwick County Kansas.
Jamey was born April 16, 1962 in Wellington, Kansas to parents Norman "Duck" and Nancy (Wohlschlegel) Mortimer. He was employed as a air plane machinist working for several different companies. He was a moderator for Harper County Buy, Sell and Trade and enjoyed being a DJ at important ceremonies and backyard parties alike. Jamey loved helping others; his sense of humor and positive outlook were known by many. He also was a very determined father, who loved his son dearly.
Jamey was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Mary Mortimer; and his maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Clem Davis.
Survivors include his son, Alec Mortimer and his parents, Norman "Duck" and Nancy (Wohlschlegel) Mortimer, all of Harper and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Graveside memorial service and inurnment were held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harper City Cemetery, Harper, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald house in leu of flowers, in care of the funeral home.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Friends may sign the registry at the funeral home 8-4 Saturday, Monday and Tuesday up until noon on Wednesday.
